...Kleinigkeiten, nebenbei... // Little things in the making...

Seit länger gibt es Probleme mit Stehen/Laufen und so habe ich in letzter Zeit eher geschaut, dass ich viele Hand-Näh-Projekte vorbereitet habe für die Gips-Krücken-Wochen vor mir...das alles zeige ich nach und nach später aber ein paar Fotos habe ich von den Sachen, die ich in letzter Zeit nebenbei geschafft habe. Zuerst das Candlemat, die ich für den PatchcatsTreff APR14 zum Tauschen aus Wollfilz appliziert habe:

I´ve been having more and more trouble with my feet for some time now and so I´ve been concentrating on preparing several hand-sewing projects for the weeks ahead of me while wearing a cast. I´ll be showing photos of those items as they are finished but for now I have some of the little things I´ve made in the past few weeks. First a candlemat I made to swap with the other Patchcats at our meeting last April:

The "Bareroots" original pattern is only about 22 cm across, so I drew it larger and finished at about 27 cm so my cat candleholder has more room to sit in the middle. :o)
(I forget who won it in the end, but I was lucky to get Christel´s hand-appliqued kitty candlemat!!!)

Eines Tages habe ich ein Apfelkuchen für eine Freundin gebacken und... also geschenkt habe ich welche aber endlich eins für mich gemacht--ein "Kuchenträger" (ein YouTube Video zeigte vor ein paar Jahre wie leicht zu nähen ist...weiß nicht wie´s heißt...):

One day when I made an apple pie for a friend it occurred to me there was time to run upstairs and make myself a pie/casserole carrier --I´ve given some away as gifts and finally have one for myself :o)
(...seen on a YouTube video a couple of years ago, don´t remember who showed this item I think it was in Spanish... but so simple to make--thank you!)

Vorletzte Woche kaufte ich die Anleitung für diese "Handnäh-Kissen" für den Schoß, wollte schon lange eins und denke, hilft in den nächsten Wochen:

Only 8 more Vintage Flowers blocks left to applique and then the BOM is finished! I´ve got them all prepared for hand-appliqueing in the next few weeks and hope to be done with them soon!!

Frühlingsfarben / Spring Colors! :o)

Eigentlich wollte ich ein schwarzes Kuschelkissen für Philip nähen....aber zuerst musste ich Sigis Quilt machen, um zu sehen, wie viel Rest übrig bleibt....und Sigis Quilt konnte ich noch nicht nähen, bis ich erst die Reste von den Quilt Kit habe, die ich von Oklahoma Quiltworks http://okquiltworks.com vor fast 2 Jahre kaufte...also fing ich damit an aber diese erste OKQuiltworks Top wartet auf´s Quilten, zeige ich Euch noch nicht. *grins*
Dafür zeige ich Sigis Musical Quilt, die ich aus den Haufen Reste davon genäht habe, mit Musiknoten von PaperPanache und Rocky Horror Picture Show Block von FandomInStitches!

Actually, I wanted to make a cuddly black pillow for Philip....but to do that, I had to make Sigi´s quilt, so I could use the leftover black minkee from that....but I couldn´t make Sigi´s quilt top until I had the scraps left over from a quilt top out of a quilt kit I got from Oklahoma Quiltworks  http://okquiltworks.com almost 2 years ago...so I made the OKQuiltworks top first but not showing you that one yet, since it´s not being quilted for awhile...
But I CAN show Sigi´s Musical Quilt that I made using the many scraps leftover from making that one--including some musical note blocks from PaperPanache and a Rocky Horror Picture Show block from FandominStitches:

Mein eigener Quilt (von der PatchcatsTreff2013 Blocktausch) war schon gequiltet aber war noch nicht fertig--also habe ich ein Schrägband angebracht, dass ich´s auch kuschelig habe! :o)

My own quilt (from blocks swapped with 8 Patchcats at our meeting last year) got quilted but didn´t finish itself...so I attached bias binding and now I have a new cuddly quilt, too! :o)

So viel rot, gelb, orange...hab nicht genug davon kriegen können, musste Primeln in den Farben im Beet und Balkonkasten pflanzen. *grins*
Nebenbei habe ich mein Nadelkissen/Fadenfänger von Margarete auseinander genommen um zu sehen, wie ich weitere machen kann...und machte gleich 10:

I still couldn´t get enough of red, yellow and orange after those two quilts, so I just had to plant some primroses of those colors. *grin!*
And finally, I took apart the pincushion/thread catcher box from Margarete to see how to make more, since I couldn´t find a tutorial online for one......and ended up making 10 to start with:

Gestern habe ich alles für Peters Quilt vorgeschnitten und heute fast 500 Teile für Heidis Rosen für ein Bettquilt geschnitten, was zuerst genäht werden möchte!!

Yesterday I cut everything out for Peter´s quilt and today almost 500 fabric bits for Heidi´s roses bedquilt, which needs to be sewn first!!

Viele Sachen in Arbeit aber zur Zeit nur so viel ganz fertig und gleich weitergegeben...

Happy New Year 2014!

Im Dezember 2013 habe ich so viel genäht und machte sogar ab und zu ein paar Fotos...dann ein paar schöne, ruhige Feiertage inklusive guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr...aber erst jetzt denke ich daran, endlich wieder einen neuen Blogeintrag zu machen. :o) Hole ich hiermit nach!

I was sewing so much in December and even remembered to snap a picture now and then for the blog...then enjoyed the holidays with my family and friends, including a great start to the new year...only realizing just this week that it was past time to post some of those pictures here. :o) So here goes!
