Ich nähe wieder! // Sewing again!

Nach ein Monat gezwungener Pause kann ich wieder nähen--wie ich´s vermisst habe! Heidis Projekte darf ich noch nicht zeigen bis sie´s selber sieht/abholt aber was ich zeigen kann:

After a month-long forced break I can finally sew again--sure missed it alot! I can´t show Heidi´s projects until she picks them up and sees them herself :o) but I can show these:

 



Gerda´s Patchcats2013SwapQuilt, 138x212 cm, 54x83 inches

Ich habe wie Gerda auch beim Blocktausch beim PatchcatsTreff 2013 mitgemacht und wollte eigentlich erst auf mein eigenes üben...aber Gerda war schneller. :o) Ich habe Federkreise und Kreuze abwechselnd gequiltet und im schmalen Rand eine neue Clamshell-Art Muster probiert.

I swapped blocks like these as Gerda did at our Patchcats meeting back in April and actually planned to practice this quilting pattern on my own first...but Gerda was faster. :o) I alternated quilting feather circles and crosses in the formed squares and tried a clamshell-style pattern in the smallish border.

 

 

 

Und nachdem ich mit Shyril wieder an 2-Reißverschluss-Taschen gearbeitet habe, nähte ich Heidis aus eine Hose die sie mal brachte...so war mein Muster frisch im Kopf und ich dachte, dann mache ich ein paar Taschen bevor ich etwas anderes anfange...also habe ich noch 3 genäht und alles für die nächste 13 Taschen zugeschnitten! Rosas "Hello Kitty" Tasche habe ich vergessen zu blitzen aber hat Pamela fotographiert...die blaue Tasche hat Jill schon und die dritte Tasche ist noch nicht vergeben:

 

After working with Shyril on my 2-Zip-Front bags I sewed one myself using the pair of Pants Heidi brought along for her bag some time ago....and since the pattern was fresh in mind I figured I may as well make a few more before I start something different...so I sewed another 3 bags and started cutting up the rest of my heavy denims, ended up with a big stack of pieces for 13 more bags! I forgot to snap a photo of Rosa´s "Hello Kitty" bag before it left the house but I did remember to do it for Jill´s blue bag, and the third bag doesn´t have an owner yet:

Der nächste an der Reihe war Evas Quilting, die ich fast so quilten sollte wie Christines Häuser Quilt vor einem Jahr:

Danach nähte ich Annes Abschiedsgeschenk, eine große gothik Büchertasche--alles Gute liebe Anne!

After that I made Anne´s going away present, a big gothic book tote--all the best Anne!

...und der letzte fertige Projekt--Inge wollte ein Nadelkissen also habe ich einen großen gemacht, und zwar einen Nähstein gleich!

 

...and the last project I finished--Inge asked for a pincushion so I made a big one for her in the shape of a sewing "basket" station (or paperweight, as required! :o)):

Side one is for used sewing machine needles...

...removable trash can around the corner...

...some pockets including lots of cushion for pins on the top...

...and more pocket space for scissors and such on the side!

Abends habe ich ein paar Hexagonblumen-Blöcke für Monika appliziert und ein paar heilende Herzen für Quilter gestickt... und hab wieder das Fotographieren vor dem Versenden vergessen... aber jetzt kann ich weiter an die Vintage Blumen Blöcke arbeiten! :o)

 

Evenings I appliqued a few hexagon flower blocks for Monika and embroidered a few healing hearts for hurting quilters...and once again forgot to photograph some before sending them off...but that means now I´m free to continue working on my Vintage Flower blocks again! :o)

Quilting for Gerda!!! ...and me. :o)

Alle 3 Gerdas Tops habe ich auf Shyrils Longarm quilten dürfen, was mir einfällt--was besonders viel Spaß macht!
Der erste Quilt wurde von ihrer Freundin Marina genäht und Gerda hat ihn bestimmt schon eingefasst:

I got to quilt all 3 of Gerda´s tops however I liked--which is especially fun on Shyril´s longarm!
The first was patched by her friend Marina...and by now Gerda has likely added the binding:

Die nächste 2 Quilts bekommt Gerda in 2 Wochen persönlich geliefert aber sie möchte nicht warten, mag Bilder jetzt schon sehen!
Beide hat sie mit Nähgarn geheftet und hatte ein paar Motive mittig per Hand gequiltet, die ich mit Longarm Quilting ergänzt habe. Das erste hat lila Sterne:

Her next 2 quilts will be personally delivered in 2 weeks but she´d prefer not to wait, wishes to see pictures of them already...
She had already thread-basted both quilts and hand-quilted a few motifs in the middle of each which I longarmed around. The first has lilac stars:

...und der 2. Quilt ist blau, hat 3 hand-gequiltete Blumen also habe ich eine blumige Muster freigequiltet mit ein Federmuster im Rand:

PURPLE--a quilt, lots of flowers and a wedding...

 

 

Meine Pamela hat David am 13.7.13 keltisch geheiratet und endlich komme ich dazu hier zu zeigen, was seit Pfingsten alles (natürlich für die Hochzeit!) gefertigt wurde. Zuerst machte ich einen großen doppelten Hochzeitsringquilt für sie:

 

My daughter Pamela married David in a celtic wedding ceremony on 13JUL13 and I´m finally able to show here everything that was made for it. First I of course made a big double wedding ring quilt for them:

Shyril, Siggi und ich haben danach ca. 400 Blumen zum dekorieren gemacht:

Manche silberne und viele lila Rosen wurden zur Bälle für Tischdeko gemacht;

100+ lila Rosen für die Glasuntersetzer die ich für alle Gäste freimaschinengestickt habe:

 

 over a hundred roses were clipped onto the coasters I freemotion stitched for all our guests:

 



 

und alle übrigen Rosen waren überall innen und außen des Ansbacher Irish Pubs gesteckt/gehängt!

 Für Trauzeugin Jessi machte ich eine Umhängetasche und beste Freundin Andrea machte 3 neue Traumfänger:

Katzenkorb und Babysachen... / Cat Basket and Baby Gifts...

Anfang April war ich mit den Patchcats in den Schwarzwald über´s WE und Rena Schindler zeigte uns wie wir Wäscheleine Körbchen/Taschen machen. Meins wurde erst später zu Hause fertig, hatte etwas übrig und machte ein Minikörbchen zum Verschenken daraus:

Over the first weekend of April I was in the Black Forest with the Patchcats for our annual meeting where Rena Schindler showed us how to make baskets/totes out of fabric-covered clothesline. I didn´t finish mine until later at home...and since I had some left over, I made a little basket to fill with goodies as a birthday gift:

Stoffe waren vorgewaschen und alles aber die Wäscheleine nicht und es stank ein bisschen. Mein Minikörbchen warf ich mit in der 60er Wäsche und danach mit Handtücher ganz im Trockner getrocknet. Der "Versuchskaninchen" hat alles perfekt überlebt, nichts eingegangen oder sonst etwas, ganz wie neu und stank so viel schöner, dass ich´s verschenken konnte. :o)
In der Zwischenzeit stand der große Korb zum Lüften draußen und als ich sie holen wollte, um auch in die Waschmaschine zu stopfen, war´s besetzt und ist unmissverständlich ein Katzenkorb geworden...vielleicht mach ich noch ein Kissen dafür...

The fabrics were prewashed but the clothesline wasn´t and so it had a funny chemical smell. I threw the little basket into the washing machine (hot water) and even dried it in the dryer. The little "Guinea pig" survived it all without shrinking, looked just like new and stank so much nicer that I could give it away as a gift. :o)
Meanwhile, the large basket had been outside airing and when I went out to grab it (to stuff it into the washing machine) I found it occupied! It has been taken over as a cat basket and I´m considering whether I should sew a little pillow for Ruby...

Was eine Menge Spaß gemacht hat, werde ich bestimmt nochmal machen müssen!--vor 2 Wochen habe ich ein Stoffkorb mit Trennwand für Evi genäht, gefüllt mit ein Haufen Babysachen für ihr Joshua (Divided Basket Pattern from Noodlehead):

I had a blast a couple of weeks ago making a divided basket (Divided Basket Pattern from Noodlehead) for Evi and filling it with a bunch of cute baby things for her tiny Joshua:

Mit appli-Krawatte auf dem Onesie, 4x Waschlappen (aus einen Handtuch geschnitten und mit Schrägband eingefasst), ein Wrummeltuch und 10x mini Pipi Tipis!
